WEBIST is organized by INSTICC - Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication.


SCOPE

The purpose of the 1st International Conference on Web Information Systems and Technologies (WEBIST) is to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in the technological advances and business applications of web-based information systems.
Five simultaneous tracks will be held, covering different aspects of Web Information Systems, including Internet Computing, Web Interfaces and Applications, Web Security, Society and e-Business and e-Learning.

WEBIST focuses on real world applications; therefore authors should highlight the benefits of Web Information Systems and Technologies for industry and services, in addition to academic applications. Ideas on how to solve business problems, using Web IST, will arise from the conference.
Papers describing advanced prototypes, systems, tools and techniques and general survey papers indicating future directions are also encouraged. Papers describing original work are invited in any of the areas listed below. Accepted papers, presented at the conference by one of the authors, will be published in the Proceedings of WEBIST. Acceptance will be based on quality, relevance and originality. Both full research reports and work-in-progress reports are welcome. There will be both oral and poster sessions.

Special sessions, dedicated to case-studies and commercial presentations, as well as tutorials dedicated to technical/scientific topics are also envisaged: companies interested in presenting their products/methodologies or researchers interested in holding a tutorial, workshop or special session are invited to contact the conference secretariat (secretariat@webist.org) or visit the conference website (http://www.webist.org/).

VENUE

The conference will be held at Deauville Beach Resort, located on the beach at 67th and Collins Avenue. 20 minutes from Miami International Airport and 30 minutes from Ft. Lauderdale International Airport.
The hotel is surrounded by water, gifted with a skyline of the Atlantic Ocean to the east and charmed and intrigued by the thrill of Miami to the west. Nested in the Art Decor District and a neighbor to the Shops at Bal Harbour.
