Special Sessions

Special sessions are very small and specialized events to be held during the conference as a set of oral and poster presentations that are highly specialized in some particular theme or consisting of the works of some particular international project. The goal of special sessions (minimum 4 papers; maximum 9) is to provide a focused discussion on innovative topics. All accepted papers will be published in a special section of the conference proceedings book, under an ISBN reference, and on digital support. All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library. SCITEPRESS is a member of CrossRef and every paper is given a DOI (Digital Object Identifier). The proceedings are submitted for indexation by DBLP, Web of Science / Conference Proceedings Citation Index, EI and SCOPUS.

Scope

The special session Social recommendation in information systems (SRIS) aims at gathering researchers working on the category of social recommendation in recommender systems. The session offers an opportunity to academic and industry researchers to discuss challenges and presenting solutions to such systems.
Through recommendation users, systems, …, aim at predicting what can be better and not yet considered while filtering information. During recommendation phase, items or resources that are close to those already used by users can be recommended. The sharing of preferences or tastes between users can be a basis for recommending resources to users or users to other users, depending on the domain activity.
Specially, within the social recommendation resources such as web pages, web sites, news, people, communities, can be of a great interest and suggested to the user by the mean of social information.
